Jason's Vision for Virginia
-
An Economy for Working Families
Chesterfield families deserve to thrive — not just scrape by. Jason will fight to lower costs, raise wages, and make sure that every Virginian can afford a decent standard of living. Because no one working full-time should have to choose between paying the bills and caring for their family.
- Raise the minimum wage to match the cost of living.
- Create a state-level child tax credit.
- Bring down the cost of housing and strengthen tenant protections.
- Establish paid family and medical leave.
- Hold Dominion Energy accountable and lower costs for ratepayers.
- Protect Medicaid, expand access to affordable mental and behavioral health services, and cap prescription drug prices.
- Repeal anti-union laws like so-called “Right to Work” and strengthen collective bargaining rights.
- Support small businesses, worker-owned enterprises, apprenticeships, and local job creation.
- Regulate artificial intelligence (AI) to protect jobs from corporate greed.
-
Strengthen Public Education
Fully funded public schools are the foundation of opportunity. Jason knows that great teachers, safe classrooms, and access to early learning change lives. He’ll work to make sure every child — no matter their ZIP code, background, or first language — gets the high-quality education they deserve.
- Raise teacher and support staff pay to recruit and retain the best educators.
- Expand universal Pre-K and fully fund early childhood education.
- Strengthen supports for English language learners, dual-language instruction, and newcomer students.
- Increase school-based mental health staffing and expand access to counseling and social-emotional supports.
- Fully fund the JLARC recommendations to fix Virginia’s outdated school funding formula and close equity gaps.
- Modernize school buildings, reduce overcrowding, and address long-overdue maintenance needs.
- Provide universal free school meals so no child learns on an empty stomach.
-
Fight for Our Rights
Virginia must remain a firewall for freedom. As extremists across the country roll back reproductive rights, voting access, and equality, Jason will stand firm for our fundamental liberties — because in Virginia, rights should move forward, not backward.
- Put abortion rights, voting access, and marriage equality into the state constitution.
- Defend immigrants and vulnerable communities from discrimination, scapegoating, and political persecution.
- Expand diversion programs and reentry services rooted in fairness and rehabilitation.
- Stand up to MAGA extremism and federal overreach that threaten civil liberties.
- Strengthen data privacy laws so people have real control over their information.
-
End Gun Violence
Every Virginian deserves to feel safe in their school, neighborhood, and home. Jason will work to reduce gun violence through commonsense reform and community investment.
- Close loopholes that let dangerous individuals access firearms.
- Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
- Invest in community-based violence prevention and intervention programs.
- Support trauma recovery and youth mentorship initiatives to break cycles of violence.
-
Clean, Affordable & Reliable Energy
The climate crisis is already reshaping Virginia — from increased flooding to soaring energy bills. Jason believes we can protect our planet and grow our economy at the same time by investing in clean energy, resilient communities, and good-paying green jobs.
- Hold the data center industry accountable and make sure they pay their fair share.
- Defend and strengthen the Virginia Clean Economy Act and Virginia Environmental Justice Act.
- Stop new fossil fuel projects that threaten our health and environment.
- Invest in renewable energy, public transit, and green infrastructure.
- Create good-paying jobs that build a cleaner, more sustainable future for Virginia.
